Riau Book - The issue about oil and gas management now invites a lot of attention from various students. One of them is student majoring in Legal Studies from the University of Riau. Through the student organization of representative Council (DPM) Faculty of Law, University of Riau, they held Pekanbaru Law Club (PLC) to discussed oil and gas management in Riau.

Chairman of the student representative council (DPM) Faculty of Law, University of Riau, Alpian admitted his concern about the condition of oil and gas management in the province of Riau. Countries and regions companies should hold full portion in oil and gas management rather than foreign companies. Issue about Rokan block contracts that will expire in 2021 later, he thought that it will be the right time for the government to nationalized the oil and gas.

"Our efforts are to provide understanding to fellow students. Although we were majoring of law, did not stop our steps to care about oil and gas issue," said Alpian, the student from eighth semester.

While of that Saidil Adli, as chairman committee wish that this event aims to give enlightenment to the people especially those of students of University Riau in order to provide them information about the condition of oil and gas in Riau.

"We expect that this event will provide input and concrete solutions to the problems existing in oil and gas in Riau, especially about Rokan block. We want the block of oil and gas should be returned to the motherland," Saidil Ali explanation.

In presenting his idea, Agung Marsudi which became one of the speakers this discussion said that the students have bargaining power to the government, especially through their movement. Student, said Agung, should dare to make the oil nationalization movement.

Because, Agung continued, the government needs to get support. The most obvious is the support of the student movement.

"This is a moment for students and society of Riau, since in 2021, Rokan block contracts will be expired. So this is an opportunity for dialogue with the students of the provincial government in order to give pressure to Riau Government. Society of Riau and student has to struggle for 3-5 years to take it," said Agung Marsudi from Duri Institute.

Except Agung Marsudi, cultural Riau, Suard also have the same opinion. According to him Riau community should move to seize the oil fields are now dominated by foreigners.

"Society of Riau must move to seize block Riau Rokan. Since it is already colonized by foreigners although we are independent, so we should strive for," said Suardi in the Hall of Soeman HS Library, Pekanbaru, Saturday (26/03/2016). (RB / Yopi)
